Description

We are looking for an experienced software developer to design, develop, and maintain mixed reality solutions and frameworks. This role is part of the Digital Solutions team and focuses on creating virtual twins of surgical robots and devices, ensuring the effective design, development, and delivery of virtual applications.

Requirements

● Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent.
● Proven work experience as a Unity developer in an agile development team.
● Proven work experience in DevOps roles, with a focus on Unity applications.
● Strong knowledge of Unity and its software design patterns and their implementation.
● Proficiency in C# and Python.
● Solid understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
● Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
● Experience designing and implementing user interfaces for visualization and interaction.
● Strong interest to work with immersive devices and applications (VR/AR/MR).
● Experience working with version control systems.
● Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
● Understanding of the level of quality required for deploying software in regulated industries.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
● Experience working with other Game Engines (e.g. Unreal).
● Experience with Unity-based software testing tools.
● Experience working in or closely with Quality Assurance roles.
● Experience implementing web-based user interfaces.
● Experience developing industrial VR/AR/MR applications.
● Experience with real-time systems and simulations.
● Proficiency in other programming languages, e.g. C++, Python and/or MATLAB.
● Interest working with supporting technologies, e. g. artificial intelligence or cloud computing.
● Understanding of surgical procedures and workflows.

Job responsibilities

● Design and development of mixed reality applications (VR/AR/MR) for medical robotics.
● Implementation of components within a modular software framework.
● Implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
● Creation and validation of user interfaces for interaction with virtual applications.
● Contribution to cross-functional discussions on project requirements and technical feasibility.
● Collaborates in creating and implementing delivery strategies and frameworks.
● Design and execution of test plans, including functional, performance, and regression testing.
● Implementation of automated build, deployment, and testing processes.
● Ideation and implementation of data analytics to improve simulations and user experience.
● Conduction of support sessions to guide medical staff on using the virtual applications.
