This platform is at the heart of a next-generation surgical experience – designed to connect data, devices, and teams. The current release includes tools for surgical video management, telepresence, and case planning, already rolled out in select hospitals.

In this role, you’ll:
– Contribute to the architecture and optimization of cloud infrastructure on AWS
– Enable seamless data flow and system scalability across microservices
– Help build a secure, resilient, and compliant environment for critical healthcare applications
– Support the future launch of a developer platform and digital health solution marketplace

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, including advanced query design and performance optimization techniques.
• Extensive experience in database modeling and designing schemas for both structured and semi-structured data.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server in production environments.
• In-depth knowledge of data security practices, including encryption, user access control, and compliance monitoring.
• Strong background in performance tuning, including experience with indexing strategies, execution plans, and load balancing.
• Demonstrated expertise in backup and recovery strategy implementation and disaster recovery planning.
• Solid experience with ETL processes and data migration tools across diverse environments.
• Expert with managing cloud-hosted databases on AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Excellent documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex database strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

• Design and implement robust relational and non-relational database architectures aligned with business and application requirements.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support high-performance data applications and reporting.
• Oversee installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of various Database Management Systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Model databases with a focus on normalization, data integrity, and scalability across transactional and analytical systems.
• Implement strong data security and encryption measures, including access control policies and audit capabilities.
• Diagnose and resolve database performance bottlenecks through indexing strategies, query tuning, and resource optimization.
• Lead the design and implementation of backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
• Drive data migration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes across systems and platforms with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage and optimize cloud-based databases on platforms like AWS and Azure, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with data scientists, application developers, and DevOps to support data-driven initiatives and maintain data integrity throughout pipelines.
