Description
Client desires novel AI based digital solutions that can help support Eye Care Professionals (ECPs), patients, etc. make data driven decisions that improve future outcomes (e.g., lens selection, treatment support). Alcon has an existing online contact lens (CL) ordering platform (i.e., MARLO) that contains patient CL purchase/order info, patient visits to ECP clinic office, demographic info, pre-exam questionnaire response data containing info on their unique lifestyle & expectations, etc.
As part of this project the R&D medical data scientist (MDS) team with the partnership with the vision care commercial/franchise teams will analyze these MARLO datasets to formulate tools & hypotheses to determine how appealing they are for ECPs/patients & to test them to see how AI can help (e.g., improve ECPs & patient journeys, uncover insights to use in product development, develop novel MARLO digital tools to expand its functionality). During this POC feasibility project MDS team will provide several AI models & solutions designed to help patients & ECPs make personalized CL suggestions, multifocal (MF) treatment decisions (e.g., provide data driven CL suggestions identify which new MF CL wearers are likely “easy” to fit), etc. At the end of this project MDS should deliver AI models for high priority use cases (e.g., lens selection, MF patient compatibility) and gather feedback on their accuracy & clinic utility from expert ECPs, internal stakeholders, etc.
Wage: From 2000 € gross monthly. Final salary will reflect your skills and experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Python programming and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy).
- Familiarity with AWS services, particularly SageMaker, for machine learning model development and deployment.]
- Experience working with structured data and conducting data analysis.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, with hands-on experience in model training and evaluation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
