It’s an onsite hybrid position in Pittsburgh, PA
Requirements
5-7 years or experience
Proven experience with the design, installation, test and maintenance of command & control centers and IT infrastructure subsystems for railroad and transit customers both internally and externally
Preferably a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Advanced knowledge of Linux operating system
Advanced knowledge of shell scripting and Linux task automation
Advanced ability to develop IT system level requirements
Advanced ability to automate deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Advanced understanding of Linux integration concerns (Hardware, Networking, Storage, Virtualization)
Advanced understanding of OS operation in a cross-platform environment (Linux/Windows/other Unix operating systems)
Experience with architecting, maintaining, and developing IT infrastructure such as clustered file systems, DNS, mail, and centralized authentication
Desired skills:
RedHat certification
Customer satisfaction (both internal and external customers).
Ability to engage global, cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience
Makes decisions with little or no supervision
Success with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time
Builds effective relationships
Stays abreast of new technologies for IT Infrastructure and shares information with the team
Exhibits a calm demeanor with the pressures of project deadlines
Job Responsibilities
Implement Linux solutions for both internal and external customers to meet ATS requirements in development, test, and production environments
Implement repeatable application of automated Linux installation techniques, in development, test, and production environments
Identify and troubleshoot OS-level problems in development, test, and production environments
Possess a solid to expert understanding of our ATS products and technology
Responsible for technical aspects of a project (or several projects) for operating system, integration, testing, documentation and operating system maintenance of ATS systems
Responsible for prompt escalation of issues, impacts of issues and recommendations/solutions to Principal or Functional Mgr (as appropriate)for resolution
Effectively communicates project status, proposes risk mitigation
Assist Principal Architect with the scoping and development of complete automated OS installation procedures (kickstarts) for new projects
Assist with development of bid estimates and schedules for IT equipment to meet customer requirements
Responsible for ensuring successful on time, on budget delivery of an ATS Solution (office)
