Reflecting on 2022
In 2021, the GlobalLogic UK&I region introduced a Charity of the Year initiative. Our 2022 Charity of the Year was End Youth Homelessness, a UK-wide movement of leading youth homelessness charities.
By the end of 2022, individuals and teams across GlobalLogic had raised a grand total of £35,883 for End Youth Homelessness, dedicating a whopping 288 volunteering hours to support this incredible movement. This was a 276% uplift on volunteering when compared to the year before!
To help reach this incredible amount, a total of 34 GlobalLogic volunteers devoted their time, commitment and enthusiasm towards various fundraising activities.
In November 2021, we took part in End Youth Homelessness’ ‘Sleep Out’, a challenge to give up your bed and sleep out in recognition of homelessness during the winter season. Numerous colleagues spent the evening sleeping rough in our London office, with other individuals braving the great Scottish outdoors! Definitely a staff sleepover to remember!
In February, several employees across our UK&I region took part in End Youth Homelessness’ annual gaming festival ‘Gaming for Good’. It brought together gaming enthusiasts for an evening filled with the likes of poker, video games and board games.
In September, we were extremely proud to see our colleagues take on the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’, consisting of a 23-mile climb across three of the highest peaks in Scotland England and Wales: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. Not only did these adventurers raise more than their £10k target, GlobalLogic matched the first £10k – meaning the sleepless hours on the minibus, every step taken on the mountains and those many blisters secured over £20k for the charity.
It’s been an eye-opening journey working with EYH across the past year and we wish them the best of luck with what the future has to hold.
2023 Charity of the Year
After a fundraising-filled 2022, we’re delighted to announce that our 2023 Charity of the Year is The Brain Tumour Charity!
The Brain Tumour Charity are the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. They are committed to saving and improving lives, moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour – that’s why GlobalLogic are so proud to be supporting them during 2023.
“Brain tumours still kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer in the UK. Of those that do survive, quality of life for many is severely impaired and late effects are heart-breaking for far too many families”, shared Gina Almond, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at The Brain Tumour Charity.
“We are unashamedly ambitious in our goals to double the survival and halve the harm that brain tumours have on quality of life, and the partnership with GlobalLogic will be invaluable in helping us to achieve these by reaching a wider audience and raising vital awareness. We are especially proud and grateful to have their support to help fund our world-class research and carry on all our work to accelerate a cure for this devastating disease.”
After speaking with Tom Chapman, Deputy Head of Capability – Design & Engineering at GlobalLogic, he passionately quoted, “We’re really excited to kick off our 2023 Charity of the Year partnership with The Brain Tumour Charity, an amazing cause close to the hearts of many of us here at GlobalLogic. There is a fantastic plan of fundraising events we’ve been working on together, some that can be done from home, from our offices, and also from other destinations across the country. This year we’re setting an ambitious target to raise £40,000 for the charity -– we can’t wait to get started!”

Accelerating Enterprise Value with AI
As many organizations are continuing to navigate the chasm between AI/GenAI pilots and enterprise deployment, Hitachi is already making significant strides. In this article, GlobaLogic discusses the importance of grounding any AI/GenAI initiative in three core principles: 1) thoughtful consideration of enterprise objectives and desired outcomes; 2) the selection and/or development of AI systems that are purpose-built for an organization’s industry, its existing technology, and its data; and 3) an intrinsic commitment to responsible AI. The article will explain how Hitachi is addressing those principles with the Hitachi GenAI Platform-of-Platforms. Accelerating Digital Transformation with Structured AI Outputs
Enterprises increasingly rely on large language models (LLMs) to derive insights, automate processes, and improve decision-making. However, there are two significant challenges to the use of LLMs: transforming structured and semi-structured data into suitable formats for LLM prompts and converting LLM outputs back into forms that integrate with enterprise systems.
