Project Overview:
The project aims to migrate the Collateral Management System (CMS) from its current vendor-hosted environment to the client’s in-house data platform. The CMS is a critical system that manages the collateral process, including valuation, monitoring, and reporting, which is essential for the organization’s risk management and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- SQL: Fluency with large and complex SQL queries for data processing.
- Power BI: Fluency with development, administration and configuration of Power BI
- Data Lake/Data Lakeshouse: Familiarity with building Data Lakes and Data Lakehouses using the modern tools, technologies, and approaches.
- Databricks & PySpark: Proven experience in building and managing data pipelines using Databricks and PySpark.
- Data Vault 2.0 and Semantic modeling: Understanding of how to model the united data repository in an efficient manner.
- Azure Cloud: Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services, particularly in data management.
- Azure Data Lake & ADSL Gen2: Proficient in managing data storage and processing within Azure Data Lake and ADSL Gen2 environments.
- Azure Data Factory: Extensive experience in designing and building data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory.
- Microsoft SQL Server: Experience in development, replication, and administration.
- Data Security: Experience with handling sensitive data, including PII and PCI, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Nice to have:
- Tableau: Familiarity with development and management Tableau dashboards and visualizations
Desired Experience:
- Experience: 4+ years in data engineering or related roles with a focus on data migration, cloud platforms, and large-scale data processing.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications (Nice to Have): Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior BI Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Data Platform Migration project. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and implementing scalable data solutions on a modern cloud-based platform. You will work closely with the Lead Data Engineer and other team members to execute the migration of existing data assets, focusing on performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Tableau dashboards and visualizations.
- Power BI Development, Administration, and Configuration:
- Develop, configure, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Administer Power BI environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Build data models in Power BI by defining relationships, creating calculated columns, measures, and performing necessary data transformations
- using Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Develop queries and calculations by creating or replicating queries and calculations from existing Cognos reports in Power BI using DAX or Power Query.
- Configure Power Automate Flows to handle both normal data and sensitive/PII data, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
- Configure report refresh and semantic models, including setting up gateways and cloud connections, managing refresh schedules, and optimizing data refresh performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Power BI deployment and usage.
