Description:
We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Technical Writer Team Leader to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of technical writers, ensuring the production of high-quality, user-friendly documentation for our products and services.
You’ll wear two hats: a technical writing expert and a team leader. You’ll not only create clear and concise technical documentation, but also guide your team members in doing the same.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a technical writer, with at least 2-3 years of team leadership experience.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of content management systems (CMS) and documentation authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Adobe FrameMaker).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable way.
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and delegate tasks effectively.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
- Experience with content development best practices, such as single-sourcing and information mapping, is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of technical writers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and maintain team workflows and processes to ensure efficient documentation production.
- Create, implement, and maintain technical writing style guides and standards.
- Assign tasks, delegate projects, and provide ongoing feedback to team members to ensure they meet deadlines and quality expectations.
- Write clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation, including user manuals, API reference guides, and online help content.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and product managers to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into easy-to-understand language.
- Review and edit technical documentation written by team members, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guides.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in technical writing and content management.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing documentation and develop new content strategies.
