Vulnerability Consultant

Requirements

As a Vulnerability Management Consultant, you will utilize your expertise in vulnerability scanning tools and cybersecurity best practices to strengthen the security posture of our clients. With 2-3 years of experience, your responsibilities will include setting up repeatable vulnerability assessments using industry-standard tools, ensuring comprehensive coverage of security scans, prioritizing vulnerabilities, and providing actionable remediation advice. You will work closely with internal teams and clients, communicating findings and ensuring the resolution of security issues within agreed-upon timelines. Strong consulting skills and the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential for success in this role. Additionally, you will analyze remediation trends and identify the root causes of delays in vulnerability remediation.

Job responsibilities

 

 

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments using tools like Qualys, Tenable, and Rapid7.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to scanning platforms and configurations.
Continuously improve scanning accuracy and effectiveness.
Analyze vulnerabilities based on risk and impact, and prioritize remediation efforts.
Generate detailed vulnerability reports with actionable remediation steps.
Maintain records of vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
Develop and update documentation for vulnerability management processes and procedures.
Provide regular status updates and reports to remediation teams and management.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand their security needs and offer expert advice.
Present findings and remediation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Provide guidance on best practices for vulnerability management and remediation.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and advancements.
Contribute to the improvement of vulnerability management processes and tools.
Participate in training and development to enhance your cybersecurity expertise.

 

Experience Required

2-3 years of experience in vulnerability management or cybersecurity.
Proficiency with vulnerability scanning tools like Qualys, Tenable, and Rapid7.
Strong understanding of network security principles; application security knowledge is a plus.
Experience with vulnerability assessment and remediation processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing security challenges and escalating when necessary.
