Description

Our client is a data-driven business implementing AI technology, computer vision, and augmented reality in the operating room (OR) and surgical training. Our first OR device allows surgical videos to be uploaded shortly after a procedure, using advanced AI automatic processing.
We also provide award-winning, accessible surgical training on our Touch Surgery application for surgeons and other healthcare professionals. Design and Technology are core to how we do this, and we are looking for a contract Web & Platform Test Engineer with full-stack web development

Requirements

• Proven experience testing medical-grade hardware device systems, and web/mobile full-stack (FE + BE) software.
• Strong programming skills and demonstrable experience in test automation (preferably Python and Kotlin)
• Experience with virtualization, Linux, and remote device management.

 

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, 21 CFR 820)
• BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• Advanced certification in software testing and modern quality engineering practices
• Knowledge of video encoding/codecs and related tooling (ffmpeg)
• Experience with Cloud (AWS) and DevOps tools for Continuous Integration (CI) testing

Job responsibilities

As a Tech Lead Web & Device Test Engineer, you will work on a core product project team alongside developers, designers, and product owners to ensure we deliver sustainable high-quality product features. We are looking for an inventive and creative Engineer who is well-versed in exploratory testing and automation and  finds value in driving story development through user-centric examples. We recognize that quality must happen at every stage of the product development process and look to our testers to champion this ethos and help strengthen our quality culture. We care deeply about
both the quality of what we’re making and the quality of life of our team.

 

Some of the things you will do:
• Work closely with the cross-functional members of the core product project team to define acceptance criteria and definition of done for both story, features, and release level.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure acceptance criteria are met through robust acceptance testing, where possible, automated using the Given/When/Then format.
• Conduct exploratory testing for individual stories and release candidates using charters and appropriate techniques to discover potential problems.
• Help measure how closely the product meets our quality goals and highlight risks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by means of guidelines, playbooks, and knowledge sharing across the team to encourage better practices and testability and increase test coverage whilst reducing feedback loop times.
