Description

The project aims to develop the next-generation Specimen Transportation System for medical laboratories. It involves designing and refining simulation software, advancing routing algorithms to enhance specimen transport logic, and optimizing system throughput to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Applied Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics or similar;
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts (Graph, Optimization, Control, Game theories, Probability and Stochastic Processes, Operations Research, Dynamical Systems); 
  • Solid command of the most common data structures and algorithms;
  • Proven experience in scientific research, mathematical analysis of complex systems, designing, developing, and optimizing efficient algorithmic solutions;
  • Hands-on experience with dynamic routing algorithms (e.g., A*);
  • Strong knowledge of optimization techniques, including heuristics, metaheuristics (e.g., genetic algorithms, simulated annealing), and exact methods (e.g., linear programming);
  • Demonstrated Experience with statistical analysis, data-driven modeling, and performance benchmarking;
  • Experience with simulation frameworks or tools for modeling and validating complex systems (e.g. Simio, MATLAB/Simulink, AnyLogic, etc.);
  • Good programming skills in C++ and Python with a focus on algorithm implementation and performance optimization;
  • Experience in Linux OS;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, document requirements, and present results effectively;
  • Ability to translate complex algorithmic concepts into practical applications for stakeholders;
  • Minimum upper-intermediate (B2) level of speaking English;
  • Experience working within an agile environment (Scrum) would be a plus.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize dynamic routing algorithms for the specimen transport system to ensure efficient and reliable specimen movement;
  • Perform simulations to model, validate, and refine the transport system’s performance under varying conditions.
  • Analyze simulation results to identify performance bottlenecks and propose enhancements to improve system efficiency.
  • Develop high-quality software in C++ and Python, focusing on algorithm implementation and performance optimization.
  • Implement and integrate algorithms as dynamic link libraries (DLL) for seamless deployment within the system.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure compatibility and scalability of algorithmic solutions within the broader system architecture.
  • Analyze complex system requirements to develop innovative and efficient algorithmic solutions that align with project objectives.
  • Translate complex mathematical concepts and routing strategies into practical applications, ensuring functionality and usability for end-users.
  • Communicate algorithmic designs, technical challenges, and results to stakeholders effectively through technical documentation and presentations.
  • Ensure adherence to software design principles and compliance with the latest software quality standards.
  • Participate in Scrum events, contributing to sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives to deliver project milestones on time.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and provide guidance and mentorship to other team members.
