The construction sector, as one of the largest industries in the world, is increasingly adopting various new technologies to keep up with market dynamics. To respond to all the requests and challenges of the market, the construction software considers the business needs of both small and enterprise-level contractors:
- Small contractors are used to working with pen and paper and keeping physical databases. Thus, the software would have to be fast, customizable, and intuitive for them.
- On the other hand, enterprise companies would need the product to enable collaboration between different departments, to include a wide range of functionalities and complex data structures.
The application was built to be flexible, usable on any platform (desktop, laptop, mobile device), and easily scalable.
The cloud-based platform is highly customizable and scalable, leveraging a fast and efficient tech stack: MS SQL Server, .NET, Angular, Kendo UI.
Collaboration
When our collaboration started, the application was at the idea stage. Our client’s initial list of functionalities was very high level, so we agreed to begin with an MVP.
The cross-functional team was 100% Fortech (BA, Database Architect, Back-End, Front-End & QA Technical Leaders, Software Developers, QA Engineers, UI/UX designer, PM), and to prove the new product’s concept, it needed to reach the market as soon as possible, so the technology stack was chosen to support that: Microsoft SQL Server for the data layer, .NET for the API layer, and Angular for the UI layer together with Kendo UI components for faster development of the user interface.
The MVP phase was successful, and the software quickly started to attract contractors, so the product entered a phase of continuous feature development.
