Could you please tell us a bit about yourself?
From early on, I knew what career I wanted to pursue. In high school, I chose the Mathematics and Informatics track at the National College “Emanuil Gojdu” in Oradea. This gave me a strong background in both Math and Computer Science. I then went on to study Informatics at the Faculty of Informatics and Sciences at Oradea University.
While still in university, I started working full-time during my first years at a small company that developed casino games. My main task there was working on a roulette game, which gave me practical experience in software development.
Later, I joined Fortech through an internship program, which helped me improve my skills and learn more about the industry. After Fortech’s acquisition by GlobalLogic, I continued my career within the organization.
I also started a master’s degree at Babeș-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca, focusing on High Performance Computing and Big Data Analytics. However, I didn’t finish the program.
For the past 3.5 years, I have been working on the same project, using and improving my knowledge in informatics and software development. This project has allowed me to grow and contribute significantly to my field.
What do you do at GlobalLogic? Please describe your career journey and your current role.
I am a skilled .NET Engineer with a wealth of experience in creating and optimizing software. At GlobalLogic, I’ve worked on two big projects, each in a different field.
My first project was from the commodity trading field and provided a way to manage and visualize data through widgets like charts and tables. Here I had responsibilities specific to a Full-Stack Developer.
My current project is from the insurance field. I worked on a platform focused on business process automation as a Back-End & DevSecOps Engineer. My responsibilities were designing, implementing, maintaining and improving the platform as well as automating processes. Lastly, I have the responsibility of managing one of the teams.
These projects have helped me gain insights and experience on different industries and learn how to build software perfectly adjusted to each clients’ needs.
Tell us more about the project you’re currently working on.
My current project began as a startup in the insurance field and its purpose is to automate common business processes of the insurance companies.
Basically, the logic performed by the insurance companies is often common or it uses common standards. Therefore, instead of having each company write their own logic from scratch, they can integrate it with the platform and have this taken care of.
The platform itself is not limited to the insurance field only but this field represents its main focus for the moment. In the future, it is easy to picture it applied to a different field.
The platform was designed so that the business/low code developers can write the business logic while the engineers can focus on the platform itself. This design has an impact on the team organization. We are split in multiple teams: infrastructure, business, front-office responsible for the UI, toolbox responsible for the platform capabilities, and a couple of teams responsible for the business logic grouped by the specific group of functionalities.
The team is composed of ~37 people, of which 3 are from GlobalLogic and others are from the client. The team grew a lot in the last years, but everything started with 3 people, of which 2 people from the former Fortech team.
What’s the project’s tech stack like?
We’re constantly leveraging cutting-edge technologies and tools to stay ahead of the curve. We are working with the latest technologies and tools with focus on .NET, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Elsa.
In our .NET ecosystem, we utilize the latest frameworks and libraries to develop robust and scalable applications. Azure serves as our go-to cloud platform, providing us with a range of services and resources to build, deploy, and manage our applications with flexibility and efficiency. With Kubernetes, we orchestrate and manage containerized applications, ensuring seamless deployment and scaling across diverse environments. Terraform empowers us to provision and manage infrastructure as code, streamlining our development and deployment workflows. Elsa, our workflow automation tool, enables us to design and execute complex workflows with ease, optimizing our processes and enhancing productivity.
By staying at the forefront of these technologies and tools, we’re able to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and maintain our position as industry leaders.
What’s your favorite thing about this project? And what’s the most challenging one?
When it comes to my favorite aspect of this project, hands down, it’s the incredible team I have the privilege of working with. My colleagues bring a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and fellowship to the table, making every day enjoyable and rewarding. The collaborative atmosphere encourages innovation and problem-solving, and I truly value the opportunity to learn and grow in this team.
As for the most challenging aspect, it would have to be navigating our use of Elsa. While it presents exciting possibilities for workflow automation, its novelty also brings complexities and uncertainties. Integrating a new product into our workflow requires careful planning, experimentation, and adaptation. We’re continually learning and refining our approach to make the most of Elsa’s capabilities while overcoming any obstacles that arise. Despite the challenges, the opportunity to pioneer its implementation is both exciting and rewarding.
How about the team? What’s the vibe in there?
I have the pleasure to work in a great team. Everyone is helping each other and they are nice people to talk with. Each member brings unique skills and perspectives to the table, creating an environment where everyone supports one another. Whether it’s sharing knowledge, troubleshooting issues, or brainstorming ideas, there’s a true sense of teamwork and mutual respect that permeates our interactions.
Beyond their professional capabilities, my colleagues are also wonderful individuals to engage with on a personal level. From sharing jokes during coffee breaks to discussing hobbies and interests outside of work, there’s always an opportunity to connect and build meaningful relationships. The atmosphere is inclusive and welcoming, making it easy to approach anyone for assistance or simply to have a friendly chat. It’s a privilege to be part of such a supportive and friendly team.

Tell us a little bit about your hobbies, how do you spend your free time?
Despite the common assumptions associated with my profession, I have a genuine passion for outdoor activities. Being surrounded by nature and engaging in various outdoor pursuits brings me joy and fulfillment. One of my favorite activities is biking. Whether it’s a short or longer ride, biking allows me to disconnect from the digital world and connect with the serenity of the outdoors and enjoy the Moving Challenge program. Fishing is another activity that I like to do in my spare time. Nothing compares to the moment when you have a stretched thread and you try to bring the fish to the shore. ATV riding offers an adrenaline-fueled escape from the ordinary. The thrill of navigating rugged terrain and conquering obstacles provides a great sense of freedom and adventure. Exploring off-road trails and landscapes on an ATV is an exciting way to embrace outdoors and push my limits.
In addition to these outdoor pursuits, I also enjoy playing padel, a dynamic and fast-paced racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. Padel challenges both my physical and mental agility while providing an opportunity for social interaction and camaraderie.
Skiing is another activity that I like to perform. I just started recently but I like it a lot, and to be honest I really hate the fact that I can do it only during winter.
Lastly, I love my regular fitness routine. Hitting the gym for a strength training session helps me stay active and it is essential to my overall well-being. Physical exercise not only keeps me fit and healthy, but also boosts my mood and energy levels, allowing me to tackle challenges with confidence and resilience.
Despite the demands of my profession, I prioritize carving out time for these activities. They not only serve as a source of relaxation and rejuvenation, but also fuel my passion for adventure and exploration.
What’s next in your career journey?
For me, it’s all about the journey of building, exploring, and improving. Each day presents an opportunity to create something meaningful, whether it’s a new product, a solution to a problem, or a connection with others. Each step forward brings new challenges and opportunities, and I’m excited to embrace them all as I strive to make a positive impact through my work.
