We plan to build a Data Platform on top of AWS Ecosystem to port-over some of EMS Legacy applications. We plan to use Scala to build microservices that will provide self-onboarding functionality to our customer and internal users. We, furthermore, plan to build data pipelines on Spark (Scala) and other open-source technologies with the goal of having robust/scalable and resilient data services. The platform will have several User Interfaces built on top of Angular and Typescript to connect the pipelines and services together and provide a optimized user experience. The application/pipelines and microservices we build will run on top of managed Kubernetes.

We are looking to build multiple value stream teams composed of Front-End/Back-end Software/Data, Test Engineers and Infrastructure engineering. We need people that can work hands-on as engineers solving complex problems and building advance software solutions. We face daily challenges that are both unique and engaging, while processing data at petabyte scale. That is over one trillion data points in multiple different data periods. We have consumer privacy and data security at the forefront of all that we do. Our size also allows us to use cutting edge, open-source technologies to tackle the ever-growing challenges.

Wage: from 3300€ gross/monthly. Final salary will reflect your skills and experience.

 

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Python, Java and/or Javascript for writing test scripts and automation

Willingness to Learn technologies used on the project for AQA testing:

TypeScript with Playwright and Cucumber for UI testing.
Scala for testing GraphQL API’s and Rest Api.
Github and git for source control.
GitHub actions for CI/CD.
SQL mainly to query databases

Familiar with big data frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark. Understanding how to navigate and test applications built on these platforms.
Strong knowledge of SQL and understanding of NoSQL Databases for quering relational databases and experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) for handling unstrucurred data
Data Warehousing: Nice to understand Data Warehousing concepts and tools to validate data storage and retrieval processes
Understanding of Datalake
Data Quality Testing: Skills in data profiling, validation and verification to ensure data integrity and accurancy
ETL TEsting: Knowledge of ETL (Exact, Transform, Load) processes and tools (e.g., Apache, Spark) to test data movement and transformation
Automation tools: Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, JUnity) for testing big data and UI testing
Automation tools: Experiance with testing of GraphQL
Excelent analytical skills to be able to analzye large datasets to identify trends and issues that need to be addressed
Strong Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data-related issues
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
Experience with Cloudom, mainly AWS: Athena, Glue, S3, Iceberg, Lambda
Experience working as a part of a Scrum team

Job responsibilities

Testing big data ingestion and aggregation flows and related queries
Developing automation framework using programming languages such as python, scala and automate the big data workflows such as ingestion, aggregation, ETL processing etc
Debugging and troubleshooting issues within the big data ecosystem
Understand how to set up the set up the Big data platform and Hadoop ecosystem for testing
Define test strategy and write test plan for the data platform enhancements and new features/services built on it.
Define the operating procedures, service monitors and alerts and work with the NOC team to get them implemented.
Responsible for system & performance testing of the data platform and applications
Solve problems and establish plans and provide technical consultation in the design, development and test effort of complex engineering projects
Review product specifications and write test cases, develop test plans for assigned areas.
Identifies issues and technical interdependencies and suggest possible solutions.
Recreate complex customer and production reported issues to determine root cause and verify the fix.
