We kicked off the year by celebrating two significant milestones: the entity merger and our official legal name change from Fortech to GlobalLogic. This transition wasn’t just a rebranding effort; it marked a bold step into a future defined by innovation, collaboration, and a global outlook. From our humble beginnings in a gas station and a small apartment to joining forces with GlobalLogic, a leader in digital product engineering, this transformation reflects our resilience, growth, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
February 1st marked a historic moment for us. The merger completion and the brand integration weren’t just symbolic, it was a testament to our journey and the exciting path ahead. Our brand transition video captured this transformation, celebrating our evolution from Fortech to GlobalLogic Romania and the confidence we carry into the future.
Our colleagues in Oradea planted 400 trees as part of the #OPadureDeLaZero initiative, underscoring our commitment to environmental sustainability. Additionally, we participated in three student events in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest, strengthening our partnerships with universities and inspiring the next generation of tech talent through our educational programs and events.
Our Moving Challenge program earned recognition at the Romanian CSR Awards, achieving second place in the ‘Employee Support’ category. We were also proud to be ranked among the “Top 1000 Largest Companies in Romania” by ZF, a testament to our growth and impact.
Our longstanding support for the JSHeroes Conference continued, reflecting our commitment to the local JS enthusiasts community. We also launched our internal Moving Challenge Program on May 10th, bringing colleagues from Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia, Germany and Sweden together through movement, collaboration, and connection.
From hosting Women in Tech gatherings to participating and listed as one of Forbes Champions Business 2024 in Romania at Forbes Awards, Crosul Hoia GlobalLogic, and the Iasi Sports Festival, June was filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and have fun. These events brought us closer to tech enthusiasts and the local tech communities we admire, fostering meaningful connections and shared growth.
In July, we partnered with the Apuseni Spirit NGO to explore the beauty of the Apuseni region. Using the Apuseni app, developed with passion by our team at GlobalLogic, we not only contributed to its creation but also challenged our colleagues to embark on an adventure that blended innovation with the thrill of discovery.
We proudly supported the CoderDojo Brașov Camp, offering children a chance to explore programming and ignite a passion for technology. It’s initiatives like these that help us build a sustainable future.
Our ambassadors’ team, active since May, organized numerous events for colleagues, fostering engagement and connection. On the sports side, In Bucharest, our colleagues enjoyed two days of fun and fitness at the Greenfield Sports Festival.
At the Employer Branding Awards Gala, we received two Gold Awards for our campaign marking the brand transition from Fortech to GlobalLogic. Recognized for Best New Employer Brand and Best Employer Brand Video, these awards reflect the creativity and passion of our team. We also sponsored the Făget Tour GlobalLogic.
The 6th edition of the Moving Challenge wrapped up, with our teams collectively covering over 530,000 km in six months and donating 20K $ for two healthcare causes. In addition, we proudly hosted events like PMI and Women in Tech, and supported others such as DevCon, ITDays as sponsors and partners, celebrating innovation and collaboration. Additionally, SMURD conducted First Aid Workshops at our offices in Cluj, Oradea, Iași, and Brașov, equipping our teams with vital life-saving skills.
We ended the year on a high note with the opening of our new Bucharest office, a celebration filled with holiday cheer. Also, the Winter Connect Events provided an opportunity to reflect on our challenges, celebrate successes, and strengthen our bonds with colleagues and business partners.
