Description:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Monitoring Specialist with expertise to enhance the monitoring capabilities of our systems and applications. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our infrastructure and services through proactive monitoring and analysis.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3 – 4 years’ experience working with Datadog or similar monitoring tools in a
production environment.
• Strong understanding of monitoring concepts, including metrics, logs, and traces.
• Deep understanding of web applications; capable of digesting data flows and building
synthetic transaction monitors for core functionality.
• Proficiency in querying and analyzing data using query languages such as SQL,
PromQL, or similar.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to monitor the health, performance, and availability of our systems, applications, and services.
2. Develop custom monitoring metrics, alerts, and dashboards tailored to specific use cases and business requirements, utilizing Datadog APM technology.
3. Proactively identify potential issues and performance bottlenecks by analyzing metrics, logs, and traces collected and take preemptive actions to mitigate risks.
4. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Engineering, and IT Operations to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified through monitoring and utilizing insights.
5. Continuously optimize and fine-tune monitoring configurations to improve detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and enhance overall system observability.
6. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in monitoring and observability and recommend enhancements to our monitoring strategy.
7. Provide guidance and support to internal teams for monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization purposes.
8. Participate in incident response and on-call rotations to ensure timely resolution of critical issues affecting production systems, leveraging insights.
