Description:
We are searching for a passionate and technically savvy leader to head our Digital Cockpit Center of Excellence (COE). As the Digital Cockpit COE Leader, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of next-generation digital cockpits for our vehicles. You will play a key role in shaping the user experience, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle systems, and staying ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving automotive technology landscape.
Requirements:
• Masters/Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams in the development of digital cockpit systems or automotive user interfaces.
• Proven track record of success in defining and executing user-centered design principles.
• Strong understanding of automotive in-vehicle electronics and human-machine interface (HMI) design principles.
• Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of SoCs used in automotive HMI systems.
• High-performance computing architectures for graphics processing and complex HMI rendering Low-power consumption technologies to meet automotive power budgets
• Safety-critical features of SoCs for functional safety compliance (ISO 26262)
• Integration with other automotive electronic components through communication protocols.
Preferences:
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools for digital cockpit design and development (e.g., HMI design tools, prototyping tools).
Job Responsibilities:
• Define the vision and roadmap for the Digital Cockpit, aligning it with the future mobility trends.
• Lead the Digital Cockpit COE team, including setting goals, assigning tasks, managing resources, and monitoring progress on various digital cockpit development projects.
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the COE, bringing together development engineers, system engineering, and human-machine interface (HMI) experts.
• Possess a deep understanding of digital cockpit technologies, including hardware, software, display systems, and HMI design principles.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in automotive infotainment, connected car features, and in-vehicle user interaction technologies.
• Liaise with external partners (technology vendors, suppliers) to identify and implement cutting-edge solutions for the digital cockpit.
• Develop and maintain internal guidelines and best practices for digital cockpit design and development.
• Manage the COE’s budget for resources like digital cockpit hardware, software tools, and external collaborations.
• Oversee user research and usability testing to ensure the digital cockpit is intuitive, user-friendly, and delivers a positive user experience.
• Manage risks associated with digital cockpit development and implementation, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Champion a data-driven approach, leveraging user feedback and analytics to continuously improve the digital cockpit.
• Clearly communicate the COE’s goals and initiatives to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, marketing, and engineering departments.
