Description:
The primary focus of this role is to collaborate with development teams to streamline software delivery pipelines, automate release processes, drive the adoption of infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management practices, and monitor and enhance system performance, reliability, and availability through effective monitoring and alerting systems, ensuring the security of our systems. An Engineer with a DevOps Specialty at Third Bridge promotes and encourages a collaborative culture and continuous improvement within the organisation. They advise on the process of delivering software through automation and the adoption of tooling to assist the overall software development cycle, providing guidance on building and deploying software and infrastructure following industry best practices. They work together with other roles in the organisation to improve and evolve software delivery processes to meet the ever-changing business needs. The Senior DevSecOps Engineer role is an essential part of the team, advising, guiding, and helping teams deliver value to the business while ensuring quality standards and maintaining the security and reliability of all the systems involved. Senior DevSecOps Engineers encourage autonomy and shared responsibility in delivering software by providing documented and standardised processes and tools.
Wage: from 3500€ gross/monthly. Final salary will reflect your skills and experience.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on configuring, setting up, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and tools.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as CircleCi, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, or similar
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation concepts
• Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python) for automation and troubleshooting
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrable ability to write code, tests, documentation and other artefacts necessary to deliver solutions to time, quality and budget constraints
• Demonstrable ability to work as a part of small and varying teams of individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and levels of experience
• Demonstrable ability to build trust and relationships at appropriate levels within and outside Third Bridge. Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams
Job Responsibilities:
• Tool Setup and Management: Deploy, configure, and manage tools and services such as CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), version control systems, configuration management tools, and monitoring solutions.
• Maintain and keep the software delivery tooling up-to-date.
• Advise and guide other engineers on infrastructure, cloud-related topics, CI/CD topics, and monitoring and observability best practices. Providing guidance and best practices drives engineering productivity and reliability practices across the wider team.
• Work on automating tasks and workflows to improve the efficiency of people and processes – leading to faster, more reliable deployment. Find pain points and bottlenecks in the development lifecycle to find ways to automate processes to relieve the pressure on the engineering teams.
• Develop and enhance automation scripts and workflows for routine tasks, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning using tools and technologies like Ansible, Terraform, and Python. Automate infrastructure following best IaC (Infrastructure as Code) practises, providing reusable modules that can be quickly adopted by the engine.
• Evolve the platform and how we deliver our services by developing and helping the wider team adopt our cloud infrastructure, observability and CI/CD offering.
• Design, write and deliver software that improves the lives of the engineers and the scalability of our platform.
• Ability to influence and introduce change into development teams. This might involve introducing new tooling, new processes, or new ways of working to improve developer productivity and scale.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures for the cloud infrastructure and DevOps tools.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains. Propose and implement solutions to enhance the overall infrastructure and toolset.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, identify issues, and conduct troubleshooting to ensure high availability and optimal performance. Implement necessary fixes and improvements.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices, including access controls, encryption, etc. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
