Description

• Familiarity with layer 2 and layer 3 IP network principles and experience configuring basic layer 3 networks (routing).
• Familiarity/experience with advanced layer 3 routing protocols such as BGP, MPLS, SR-MPLS, or others is an asset.
• Familiarity with advanced layer 2 technologies such as LACP, bonding, static LAG or others is an asset.
• Experience with security tunneling protocols such as IPSec VPN, PPTP, WireGuard, etc is an asset
• Experience with at least 2 enterprise virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, vSphere, OpenStack
• Experience with at least 2 end-user virtualization technologies such as VMWare Player, Hyper-V, KVM, QEMU
• Experience with software-defined SAN solutions such as vSAN, Ceph, or Storage Spaces Direct
• Experience deploying full converged or hyper-converged virtualization stacks from the ground up.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory domain administration and configuration including:
• Configuring and troubleshooting network configuration including VLANs and NIC Teaming
• Configuring and troubleshooting DNS servers
• Configuring and troubleshooting DHCP servers
• Configuring and troubleshooting DFS servers
• Configuring and troubleshooting LDAP
• Experience with Linux server administration and configuration including:
• Configuring and troubleshooting network configuration including VLANs and NIC Teaming/bonding
• Configuring and troubleshooting DNS servers
• Configuring and troubleshooting DHCP servers
• Configuring and troubleshooting Docker
• Configuring IP forwarding/routing
• Experience with PKI concepts such as certificate authorities, chains of trust, CDPs, and NDES enrollment agents.

Requirements

• Experience with configuring such is an asset
• Experience with open-source KPI collection and monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Telegraf-Influx-Grafana stacks
• Experience with open-source log collection and analysis tools such as Wazuh/OSSec, Graylog, or other ELK stack-based solutions
• Experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting languages
• Familiarity with modern application deployment environments such as Kubernetes. Experience in deployment and troubleshooting is an asset
• Familiarity with modern data center deployment principles such as Infrastructure-as-Code. Experience with Terraform is an asset.
• Familiarity with modern data center design principles such as Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service design concepts

Job responsibilities

• Maintaining and managing an IT infrastructure
• Server and System Management
• Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows, Linux, Unix).
• Network Administration
• Set up and manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure network security.
• Setting up tunneling protocols such as IPSec VPN, PPTP, WireGuard, etc is an asset
• Maintenance and expansion of virtualization platforms, deploying full converged or hyper-converged virtualization stacks from the ground up.
• Windows Active Directory domain administration and configuration
