Description:
We are building the next-generation Match Officials’ Administration System (MOAS), a collaborative product developed as a joint venture between the Governing Body for Referees and The Football Association. MOAS is a comprehensive platform aimed at managing and supporting match officials throughout the football ecosystem, from grassroots to professional levels.
We are seeking a talented Back-End Developer to join our dynamic development team and contribute to building a robust, scalable, and secure platform that will serve thousands of match officials and administrators across the UK.
Requirements:
- Java (currently 8, moving to 21+) [Crucial]
- Spring 4 [Solid]
- Hibernate 5 [Solid]
- Gradle [Solid]
- Maven [Solid]
- Apache Tomcat 9 [Solid]
- SQL [Nice to have]
- Good communication (English language) and teamwork skills.

Job Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Build, maintain, and enhance scalable, reliable, and secure back-end services and APIs for MOAS.
- System Architecture: Collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to design system architecture and application logic.
- Database Management: Develop and maintain efficient database solutions, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
- Integration: Develop third-party integrations with football management systems and external data providers.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Follow best development practices, including writing clean, maintainable code and conducting peer code reviews.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and QA engineers, ensuring product goals are met.
