GlobalLogic to establish automotive software engineering development center in Guadalajara, Mexico
SANTA CLARA, Calif. and GUADALAJARA, Mexico (December 4, 2024) – GlobalLogic Inc. , a Hitachi Group company and a leader in digital engineering, today announced a multi-year strategic alliance with NS International, Ltd., a leading provider of automotive information display products. This partnership will expand GlobalLogic’s operations in Mexico to include automotive capabilities, offering an attractive nearshore option for North American automotive companies, and will focus on driving innovation and supporting NS International, Ltd. with software engineering talent in the region.
With the growing requirements for software-defined components in the automotive industry, the demand for advanced software talent continues to rise. According to McKinsey , automotive companies are moving to building new businesses that require new skills, such as software engineering, in response to constant changes in their ecosystem. To meet the needs of this evolving industry, GlobalLogic is helping clients access key software talent globally.
Through this alliance, GlobalLogic is building a dedicated engineering center for NS International, Ltd., known in the industry as NSI, in Guadalajara, Mexico, as part of an engineering insourcing and supplier consolidation initiative. This team of GlobalLogic engineers will work on the development of instrument clusters and heads-up displays, as well as innovative projects for NSI. They will have the opportunity to be contracted directly by NSI’s subsidiary in Mexico, an approach that reflects the strengthening of both companies’ operations in the country.
GlobalLogic will leverage the growing market for technology talent in Guadalajara to expand its software engineering team and invest in an academy to train and attract experts in sector-specific technologies. It is also collaborating with local universities and associations to foster the continued development of this talent.
“As we continue to evolve our offerings to align with current industry standards, we are excited to work with GlobalLogic as our strategic partner in North America. This collaboration allows for closer proximity to our manufacturing facility to provide automotive manufacturers with the most innovative digital information display products,” said Todd Kendall, Executive Director of Engineering at NSI.
“GlobalLogic is building on our strong track record of working with global automakers by enhancing our automotive capabilities through this partnership with NSI. With this work, we continue to drive our focus on moving the automotive industry toward advanced software-defined vehicle experiences,” said Ramki Krishna, Group Vice President and General Manager, Mobility, Industrial and Energy Business at GlobalLogic.
