We are partnering with a global leader in medical devices to develop the next-generation cutting-edge tool used during hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). Client provides surgeons with real-time visualization and measurement capabilities by superimposing virtual tools on X-ray images, enabling precise clinical decision-making. The product will help surgers to plan and to validate the procedures by analyzing 2D images from X-Rays, CT, MRI and building 3D objects.

Our goal is to enhance the product’s capabilities, improving workflow efficiency and advancing surgical outcomes. This project will involve refining requirements, designing intuitive interfaces, and integrating advanced visualization tools to meet the highest clinical standards. – Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

– Minimum of 8+ years in software quality assurance, with at least 5+ years focused specifically on test automation. Minimum of 2-3 years in a Lead AQA or QA Architect role, with proven experience defining test strategy and designing/building automation frameworks from scratch.

– Strong knowledge of various testing types (Functional, Integration, Regression, System, Smoke, Performance, Security).

– Significant hands-on experience automating tests for different application layers: UI, API (RESTful preferred), and backend services. Strong programming/scripting skills in languages commonly used for test automation (e.g., Python, Java, C++).

– Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and integrating automation into pipelines. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira with Xray/Zephyr, TestRail).

– Experience working within the medical device industry or other highly regulated environments (e.g., avionics, finance) with a strong understanding of validation and compliance requirements is highly desired.

– Experience automating desktop applications, particularly those built with Qt or similar frameworks (experience with tools like Squish, TestComplete, Ranorex, or Qt’s testing framework is a strong plus).

– Experience testing applications that interact with PACS systems and utilize the DICOM protocol is a big plus. Good understanding of network protocols and communication testing.

– Expertise in test automation framework design principles and patterns (e.g., Page Object Model, BDD, Data-Driven, Keyword-Driven). Proficiency in API testing tools and libraries (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, Requests).

– Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (FDA QSR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971) is a big plus.

– Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with stakeholders. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to drive initiatives independently.

GlobalLogic is starting a completely new engagement and looking for Lead AQA Engineer who will establish, lead, and execute the comprehensive test automation strategy for the entire system, ensuring the highest levels of quality, reliability, and compliance required for a cutting-edge medical device. This includes architecting frameworks, selecting tools, managing automation efforts, and mentoring the QA team.

– Define, architect, and implement the end-to-end test automation strategy and framework(s) covering the Qt-based tablet UI, backend APIs/services, inter-module communication, and integrations (including PACS/DICOM interfaces).

– Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate test automation tools and technologies suitable for the project’s technical stack (Qt, backend technologies, communication protocols). Establish and champion AQA best practices, coding standards, and processes within the team. Design scalable, maintainable, and efficient automation solutions. 

– Oversee the execution of automated test suites, analyze results, and report on test coverage, execution status, and defect trends. Integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline in collaboration with DevOps engineers to enable continuous testing.

– Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers (potentially including manual testers transitioning to automation), providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of quality.

– Collaborate closely with Software Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and DevOps to understand requirements, integrate testing early in the SDLC (Shift-Left), and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

– Drive defect triage processes and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Participate in design and requirement reviews to provide input on testability.

– Act as the primary point of contact for all test automation related activities, reporting progress, risks, and issues to project leadership and stakeholders. Ensure that test automation activities, including script development, execution, and reporting, meet the documentation and traceability requirements for medical device software validation (supporting compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, etc.).

– Identify quality risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies through automation. Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the test automation process and frameworks.
