Internal go-to contact, recognized as domain expert in support technologies for the overall DTC portfolio, product roadmap, features & functionality. Go-to contact for demos of all department testing initiatives.
Design and maintain lab layout and all equipment. Ensure lab is orderly and organized. Work with facilities to ensure proper HVAC, power, and networking support is provided to lab facilities.
Inventory and maintain all test devices. Know who is using what devices and device whereabouts.
Support activities such as executive demos, bug bashes, and test meetings that use the lab spaces. Ensure the lab is adequately set up to support these needs.
Work with IT functions to ensure lab has proper IT support.
Support automated testing team by providing and maintaining test machines and servers.
Develop and maintain process for updating lab equipment with new client builds.
Interacts with cross-functional team, up to the VP level in other functions.
Viewed by all cross-functional team members as a leader in their domain
Acts as an inter-departmental resource for all equipment related questions/needs
Operates new consumer hardware with little to no instruction
Ensures proper hardware and firmware is available for testing and that the team knows how to operate it.
Understands product and portfolio-level resourcing requirements in order ensure proper device resourcing for quality-related activities
Restructures lab as needed to suit new/releasing devices and apps
Aids cross-functional partners (including product management, program management, engineering, design, and customer support) in testing/demonstrating device/app functionality at several levels of development.
Manage labs, devices and tools. Utilize resources optimally while not exceeding agreed-upon budgets without escalating to leadership.
Proactively manage lab equipment vendor performance. Partner with leadership to evaluate new vendors or capabilities as necessary for expanding scope of device lab scope and responsibilities over time, given platform development.

職務内容

Incumbent’s main responsibility is managing all Device lab equipment, installing software and firmware builds on lab equipment to ensure software is at proper revision level. The device lab supports testing, demos and delivery of our applications across many different types of hardware. Also responsible for the care and upkeep of the overflow lab area, the screening room and consulting on lab management activities for labs owned by other teams.

This role is focused on assisting teams of manual testers and SDETS who are tasked with ensuring that WBD delivers high quality, low to zero defect products to consumers.
