Description

An experienced UI/UX designer and 3D artist to create user-centered and visually stunning mixed reality solutions. This role will be part of the Digital Solutions team and will be responsible for crafting intuitive and user interfaces, engaging immersive experiences, and production ready high-quality assets for virtual applications focusing on surgical robots and devices.

Requirements

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, HCI, interaction design, or related field.
● Proven experience as a UI/UX developer or designer.
● Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma.
● Strong understanding of interaction design principles and user-centered design methodologies.
● Familiarity with current design trends and best practices in mobile and game development.
● Proven experience as a 3D Artist, with a strong portfolio showcasing Unity-based projects.
● Proficient in 3D modelling software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) and Unity.
● Experience with texturing tools (e.g., Adobe Substance Suite).
● Solid understanding of optimization techniques for real-time applications.
● Experience with animation and rigging for characters and objects.
● Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail.
● Understanding of the level of quality required for deploying software in regulated industries.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
● A strong portfolio showcasing VR/AR/MR applications.
● Experience implementing UI/UX for Unity applications, incl. knowledge of Unity UI systems.
● Experience creating and implementing industrial designs and user interfaces.
● Experience implementing web-based user interfaces.
● Experience working with version control systems.
● Basic proficiency in programming languages, e.g. C#, Python.
● Understanding of surgical procedures and workflows.

Job responsibilities

● Design and implementation of user interfaces for mixed reality applications (VR/AR/MR).
● Creation of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas.
● Development of seamless and responsive user interfaces for various devices and platforms.
● Participation in user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and preferences.
● Translation of user needs into intuitive and effective designs.
● Creation of detailed and realistic 3D models of characters, objects, and environments.
● Design and application of high-quality textures and materials to enhance visual appeal.
● Optimization of 3D assets for Unity, ensuring optimal performance on various platforms.
● Collaboration with developers to implement and troubleshoot asset integrations within Unity.
● Rigging and animation of characters, machines, and devices.
● Testing of 3D assets and user interfaces within the development environments.
● Iteration of designs based on user feedback and testing results.
● Close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including medical professionals.
