Requirements

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of high-performance web applications and search technologies. This role involves setting the technical direction, defining coding standards, and driving best practices across a distributed engineering team.

ElasticSearch Expertise (Must have)
• Deep understanding of ElasticSearch as a high-performance search engine.
• Implement advanced text search, including relevance scoring, phrase matching, and autocomplete.
• Optimize index structures, mapping strategies, and document schemas for accuracy and speed.
• Scale ElasticSearch clusters, optimizing indexing, query performance, and shard allocation.
• Fine-tune search relevance using ranking algorithms, boosting, and custom analyzers.
• Leverage ElasticSearch analytics for personalized search, trend analysis, and user insights.

Key Responsibilities
• Define and implement the technical direction for scalable web applications.
• Establish coding standards and best practices for a distributed engineering team.
• Develop user interfaces and API surfaces for user and organization management.
• Participate in design, coding, code reviews, unit testing, and bug fixing.
• Mentor junior developers and promote collaboration.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Rapidly prototype new ideas and stay ahead of emerging technologies.

 

Job responsibilities

What you will do:

• Collaborate closely with developers maintaining the in-house design system, providing feedback and recommendations on components and the developer experience.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure implementations align with design specifications and meet user expectations.
• Implement and advocate for accessibility best practices in all software deliverables, ensuring inclusivity across all user demographics.
• Facilitate and refine CI/CD processes to enhance deployment efficiency and reliability.
• Proactively monitor and resolve issues related to the usability, performance, and scalability of front-end applications.

What You’ll Bring:

• Tech Stack: ElasticSearch, SOLR, Kafka, SNS/SQS, AMQP, Spring Boot, GitHub, Jenkins
• Strong understanding of design principles, web standards, and best practices for creating interactive and responsive front-end applications.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for ensuring compliance and functionality across all user interfaces.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs to support dynamic front-end applications.
• Experience with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an asset.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git and familiarity with CI/CD environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to writing high-quality, reusable code.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
• A passion for continuous learning and innovation in web technologies and design practices.
