GlobalLogic and Hitachi Announce Winners of 18th Edition of ‘30Hacks Supported by the Hitachi Group’
The theme of this year’s 30Hacks hackathon was ‘GreenovationX: Powering Innovation through GX & DX’
The theme for this year’s hackathon was ‘GreenovationX: Powering Innovation through GX & DX’. It deep-dived into the development of innovative and disruptive technology concepts to solve real-world business problems across three key areas – sustainable energy, smart rail, and the future of digital payments. All teams were evaluated based on defined parameters such as innovation, business implication, solution approach and architecture, theme alignment, working demo, and team presentation. Teams were awarded prizes in each of the three below tracks.
All the winning teams showcased remarkable innovation and problem-solving skills across various tracks. Under sustainable energy solutions track, the winning team 'VidyutKavach' from Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College developed a cyber-secure web-based energy management system that utilizes a multi-layered strategy to safeguard security and integrity. In the smart rail solutions track, team 'Techno Tuners' from Chandigarh University came out as winners as they leveraged cutting-edge technology to enhance rail safety and efficiency, drastically reducing response time to mere seconds after the occurrence of an accident. The team also received a special top tech innovation award for this idea. In the digital payments track, the winning team 'Simplifiers' from the Pune Institute of Computer Technology proposed a novel approach to build a CBDC-based digital wallet SDK that enables ease of payments powered by establishing a private & secure peer-to-peer network and achieving financial inclusion in Rural India. Additionally, a special award for top business implication was given to team "Energizers" from Hitachi for their idea on improving grid stability by efficiently using the electricity consumption within the manufacturing plant.
30Hacks 2024, which began with the aspiration of unlocking the true potential of technology and yielding tangible outcomes for businesses, received over 2600+ registrations from coders across multinational companies and engineering colleges/universities with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Top 30 teams were shortlisted and took part in the final 30 hours of the coding marathon. The jury for 30Hacks was presided by senior industry members including distinguished leaders from Hitachi’s varied yet dynamic business portfolio.

The event also witnessed insightful and knowledge-driven panel discussions with the theme “GreenovationX” around Railways, Research and Development, Energy, and Digital Services including a fireside chat with distinguished leaders from across varied yet dynamic industries. The panel discussions revolved around discussing challenges facing society around decarbonization and sustainability. The leaders discussed how a collaborative-co-creating platform like this can enable us to constitute a resilient ecosystem that aspires to work towards improving people’s quality of life. The speakers delved deep into suggesting transformations across the business solutions environment including looking at a futuristic yet innovative methodology to develop technologies that can help in building a society driven by Green and Digital.
