GlobalLogic to establish an automotive software engineering lab in Guadalajara, Mexico
SANTA CLARA, Calif. AND GUADALAJARA, Mexico (December 4, 2024) – GlobalLogic Inc., a Hitachi Group company and leader in digital engineering, today announced a multi-year strategic partnership with N.S. International, Ltd., a leading supplier of information display products for automobiles. This partnership will grow GlobalLogic’s operations in Mexico to include automotive capabilities, offering a nearshore option for North American automotive companies, and will focus on bringing innovation and supporting N.S. International, Ltd. with software talent in the region.
With the increasing requirements for software-defined components in the automotive industry, the demand for advanced software talent continues to grow. According to McKinsey, there is a shift in automotive companies' mandates from focusing on building products to focusing on building new businesses that require new skill sets, such as software engineering, due to the accelerated changes in the automotive ecosystem. In order to meet the evolving industry needs, GlobalLogic is helping customers get access to critical software talent across the globe.
Through this partnership, GlobalLogic is building a dedicated engineering center for N.S. International, Ltd., known to the industry as NSI, in Guadalajara, Mexico as part of an engineering insourcing and supplier consolidation initiative. This team of GlobalLogic engineers will work on the development of automotive instrument clusters and head-up displays, as well as on innovation projects for NSI. GlobalLogic will leverage the booming tech talent market in Guadalajara to expand its software engineering talent and support this partnership, thereby further strengthening the company’s established operations in the country. The company is investing in creating an academy to train and onboard engineers on domain-specific technologies. Furthermore, GlobalLogic is working with local universities and partnerships to develop and grow talent.
“As we continue to evolve our offerings to align with current industry standards, we’re excited to work with GlobalLogic as our North American strategic partner. This partnership enables closer collaboration with our manufacturing facility to provide automakers with the most innovative digital information display products,” said Todd Kendall, Executive Director of Engineering at NSI.
“GlobalLogic is building on our deep history of collaboration with global automotive manufacturers by enhancing our automotive capabilities through this partnership with NSI. With this partnership, we are continuing our focus on driving the automotive industry towards advanced software-defined vehicle experiences,” said Ramki Krishna, Group Vice President & General Manager, Mobility, Industrial & Energy Business at GlobalLogic.
