Description
We are looking for a skilled Senior Automation Engineer with expertise in Cypress and JavaScript/TypeScript to join our engineering team. This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and optimizing automated test scripts and frameworks for our web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation, a solid understanding of testing methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality product delivery.
Requirements
Experience:
4+ years of experience in automation testing with hands-on expertise in Cypress.
Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript for writing test scripts.
Experience with web application testing (UI, functional, regression, and API testing).
Skills:
Strong understanding of Cypress framework, including Cypress commands, selectors, and debugging.
Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and related libraries or frameworks.
Familiarity with other testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Mocha, Chai, Jest) is a plus.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.) for automation pipeline integration.
Testing Knowledge:
Experience in writing end-to-end and API automation tests.
Strong understanding of testing principles such as data-driven testing, performance testing, and test coverage.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in an agile environment.
Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and diagnose complex issues in the automation scripts and application.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Job Responsibilities
Automation Framework Development: Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks using Cypress, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
Test Scripting: Write and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing of web applications.
Test Execution & Reporting: Execute automated tests, analyze results, and troubleshoot issues. Create detailed test reports for defects, progress, and automation coverage.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Integrate automation tests into the CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing and faster feedback loops.
Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to understand requirements, plan test strategies, and provide feedback on software quality.
Code Quality: Maintain high standards of code quality by writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code for automation scripts.
Test Maintenance: Regularly update and refactor test scripts to accommodate changes in the application, ensuring long-term stability and reliability of the test suite.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior automation engineers in the team, helping to elevate their skills and knowledge.
Test Strategy & Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of test strategies, continuously suggesting improvements for test coverage and efficiency.
