Description
We are looking for a passionate pixel-pushing, gamut wrangling Video and Picture Quality Systems Engineer to help lead our Video and Graphics Picture Quality Team. This is a critical team that is instrumental to the delivery of Fire TV’s core customer promise, and this engineer will shape and guide Fire TV’s future in TV’s and Media Players.
On this team you’ll help develop the future of television and entertainment delivery while assuring that Fire TV’s innovation is backed by rock-solid picture quality and industry-leading video processing. This is a chance to work in a space ranging from silicon-level color correction to machine-learning while building products used every day by people you know.
In this role you will:
- Build scalable processes and systems critical to the development of dozens of products per year.
- Investigate, prototype, and develop innovative technological advancements in content presentation.
- Deliver high-quality products while working in a dynamic team-focused environment.
- Work hands on with devices from prototype to production.
- Contribute to critical features of flagship products.
- Navigate all layers of the stack fearlessly.
- Advocate for customers.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of professional experience in software or device production.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Fluency in multiple programming languages, including C, C++, Java, and Python.
- Experience defining system architectures and understanding technical trade-offs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with delivery-side color and video processing, including gamut mapping, panel-level correction, motion-estimation/motion-compensation.
- Experience and high level understanding of the Picture Quality/Graphics space
- Consumer software, systems design, and architecture experience.
- Solid Project Management Skills
- Experience driving applied research and development programs.
- A favorite color space.
Job Responsibilities
