Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 9-12 years of experience in database administration, including:
At least 5 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
Proven experience in managing large-scale PostgreSQL databases.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PostgreSQL Certified Professional or similar are preferred.
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and internals.
Strong experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
Proficiency in database backup, recovery, and security.
Experience with replication, clustering, and high availability setups.
Knowledge of database design, data modeling, and SQL.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work on-call as needed.
Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.

Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL databases.
Monitor database performance and ensure high availability.
Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and patching.
Performance Tuning:
Analyze and optimize database performance.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Implement best practices for database tuning and optimization.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Data Integrity and Recovery:
Implement and manage database backup and recovery solutions.
Ensure data integrity and consistency.
Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with application developers to design and optimize database schemas.
Provide support for database-related issues and queries.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions.
