Description

Safety Analysis:
o Conduct hazard analysis (HAZOP, FMEA) to identify potential hazards and
risks.
o Perform risk assessment to determine the severity and likelihood of identified
hazards.
o Develop safety concepts and strategies to mitigate risks.
 Safety Requirements Definition:
o Derive safety requirements from system requirements.
o Ensure that safety requirements are traceable to system requirements.
o Allocate safety requirements to hardware, software, and other system
components.
 Safety Architecture Design:
o Design the safety architecture of the system, including safety
mechanisms, redundancy, and fault tolerance.
o Ensure that the safety architecture aligns with the safety requirements.

Requirements

Certification: Functional safety certifications (e.g., TÜV SÜD Functional Safety
Engineer, Functional Safety Manager)
 Industry Experience: Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
 Technical Skills: Knowledge of programming languages, simulation tools, and safetyRequired Skills and Qualifications:
 Strong understanding of functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262.
 Experience in conducting hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety concept
development.
 Knowledge of automotive systems and components.
 Ability to design safety architectures and implement safety mechanisms.
 Experience in safety validation and verification techniques.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
 Safety Analysis:
o Conduct hazard analysis (HAZOP, FMEA) to identify potential hazards and

 Safety Requirements Definition:
o Derive safety requirements from system requirements.

 Safety Architecture Design:
o Design the safety architecture of the system, including safety
mechanisms, redundancy, and fault tolerance.
o Ensure that the safety architecture aligns with the safety requirements.
 Safety Validation and Verification:
o Develop safety validation and verification plans.
o Oversee the execution of safety tests and simulations.
o Evaluate test results to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
 Safety Documentation:
o Prepare safety documentation, including safety cases, safety plans, and safety
reports.
o Ensure that safety documentation is complete, accurate, and traceable.
 Safety Assurance:
o Monitor and assess the safety performance of the system throughout its
lifecycle.
o Implement corrective actions to address any safety issues.
 Collaboration:
o Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines
(e.g., hardware, software, systems) to ensure that safety is integrated into the
development process.
o Work with suppliers and partners to ensure that their products and services
meet safety requirements.
