Description:
We are seeking a visionary and technically proficient leader to spearhead our Center of Excellence (COE) for Vehicle Connectivity and Telematics. You will play a pivotal role in defining our strategic roadmap, overseeing the development and implementation of innovative connected car features, and fostering a collaborative environment within the COE. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding the organization towards a future where vehicles are seamlessly integrated with the digital world.
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with a focus on telecommunication, data management, or embedded systems.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams in the development and implementation of connected car features or telematics systems.
• Proven track record of success in defining and executing strategic technological roadmaps for connected car technologies.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for protecting connected vehicles and user data.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies for connected car development (e.g., data analytics tools, API development tools).
Job Responsibilities:
• Define the vision and roadmap for the Vehicle Connectivity/Telematics COE, aligning it with the company’s overall business strategy and the future of connected mobility.
• Lead the COE team, including setting goals, assigning tasks, managing resources, and monitoring progress on various connected car feature development projects.
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the COE, bringing together engineers, IT security specialists, data scientists, and user experience (UX) designers.
• Possess a deep understanding of in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN bus, Ethernet), cellular technologies (4G LTE, 5G), and telematics software platforms.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in connectivity technologies like V2X communication and cloud-based services for connected vehicles.
• Partner with external partners to identify and implement cutting-edge solutions for connectivity and telematics services.
• Develop and implement data management strategies for collecting, storing, and analyzing vehicle data responsibly, ensuring data privacy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor the performance and reliability of connectivity and telematics systems, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring a positive user experience.
• Manage the COE’s budget for resources like communication modules, software licenses, cloud services, and external partnerships.
• Advocate for responsible development and deployment of connected car features, prioritizing data security, privacy, and ethical considerations.
• Clearly communicate the COE’s goals, challenges, and progress on connected car development to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, marketing, sales, and customer service departments.
