Description:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Python
• Proven track record of updating software dependencies and maintaining compatibility
• Experience in developing and maintaining automated tests and non-regression tests
• Familiarity with SDLC processes and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Requirements:
• Ensure comprehensive testing is conducted to avoid any disruption to existing functionalities
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes
• Collaborate with the development and QA teams to integrate automated testing into the development lifecycle
• Participate in and lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality
• Deliver updates to production following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role to be performed remotely is $115k/yr to $125k/yr, and reflects base salary only. This pay range is provided as a good faith estimate and the amount offered may be higher or lower. GlobalLogic takes many factors into consideration in making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations.
Preferences:
• Extensive experience with Python and Perl, particularly in updating and maintaining large codebases
• Proficiency in Linux-based environments
• Strong familiarity with Salt for configuration management
• Expertise in containerization tools like Docker
• Knowledge of Artifactory for artifact management
• Experience with system updates and application configuration on Debian-based systems
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools
Job Responsibilities:
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Self-motivated and capable of leading projects independently
• Lead the effort to update the Backup and Images team’s products to the latest versions of Python or Perl
• Update containers or machine configurations as necessary to support new software versions
• Refactor and update dependencies, tests, and code to ensure compatibility with the latest versions
• Identify and develop non-regression tests for any bugs found, ensuring that existing tests remain intact and functional
