Description:

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will develop and execute exploratory testing to ensure product quality. Working as part of an agile team you will cooperate with our talented developers to design and implement tests, debug and define corrective actions, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality software.

Requirements:

Must have:

  • Written and spoken Japanese language proficiency (equivalent of at least JLPT N3 or higher, official JLPT certification is not a must)
  • Written and spoken English language proficiency (the equivalent of B2 or higher)
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills (to be working with Japan and CEE-based teams)
  • Modern software engineering – Agile and DevOps
  • Cloud Technology awareness – Amazon Web Services (or relevant)
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Solid API testing skills (REST, WebAPI)
  • Familiar with databases and knowledge of SQL
  • Experience working in relevant Sectors – Financial Services [2 projects]
  • Organizations – Software House [4 projects] or Corporate [4 projects]

Desired:

  • Experience with Serverless architecture
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, e.g., Financial Services, Utilities, Travel
  • Experience with distributed source control (Git/Bitbucket/Stash)
  • JIRA & Confluence experience 
  • Projects – CI/CD Application Development 
  • Exposure to modern software engineering – TDD, BDD
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience within technical consultancy and/or service delivery organizations

 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Review business requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely and meaningful feedback
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Develop and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases to the defined specification
  • The estimation, prioritization, and coordination of testing activities
  • The execution of the agreed test scope before software solution implementation
  • Assist with debugging support, understanding defects identified and managing them through to resolution, proactively fixing common errors, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout
  • Defect database maintenance and the tracking of quality assurance metrics, including defect densities and open defect counts
  • Gathering test data requirements and automating the generation of the data; the creation of interfaces to expose functionality and data for testing purposes
  • Contributing to the development of Test tools and accelerators; capturing valuable assets that may be applied in a wider ECS context, ensuring that the Practice QA and Engineering function have visibility of these for future reuse
