Description:
GlobalLogic is looking for a highly experienced professional, who shares our passion for the creation of digital solutions.
You will join our team as a Director, Engineering, and will be focusing on starting new and taking over existing projects in the energy domain, leading digital product development, advancing a sustainable energy future for all. Your key client is a global company with a track record and installed base in more than 140 countries, serving customers in utility, industry, transportation, data centers and infrastructure sectors.
You will be responsible for a portfolio of digital projects in the Energy domain with a team of 100+ engineers. Your management structure will include several project managers reporting directly to you.

Requirements:
- Preferred background in Power System Engineering or proven track record of digital product development in the Energy industry.
- Flexibility to take part in offline meetings, workshops and events (primarily EMEA region, occasionally USA, India, Japan).
- 12+ years in a software development industry as Developer/QA/Manager
- 8+ years hands-on managerial experience on large-scale digital projects (team of 30+ software experts / 2+ years of development timeline).
- 5+ years of leading cross-geo multi-cultural teams on a scale of 80+ individuals.
- Experience working at an IT outsourcing company
- Experience building a reliable management structure and developing professional qualities of your direct subordinates.
- Pre-sales experience: responding to RFI/RFQ/RFP, estimation and proposal development, collaborating with Sales organization.
- Strong grasp on modern software development technologies such as GenAI,ML/AI, Cloud, CI/CD, Microservices.
- Experience with project finance management (invoicing, P&L, margin optimization, finance reporting);
- Fluent English (C1 equivalent).
Job Responsibilities:
You will be governing a portfolio of projects, ensuring the successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline, while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project execution, mitigate risks, and foster collaboration to achieve project objectives.
You will:
- Lead your team to conduct end-to-end analysis, planning and execution of digital applications including desktop, web, mobile, and cloud-based systems.
- Work on new pre-sales, developing proof of concepts.
- Supervise your team to apply various tools and techniques to control scope, schedule, quality, stakeholders and development process to ensure projects are delivered within SLA .
You have hands-on experience with advanced project management tools and techniques, so you are capable to mentor your managers for the following areas:
- Project planning and estimation for timeline, cost and resources;
- Root Cause Analysis: FMEA, 5 whys, building fishbone diagrams;
- Agile metrics (planning poker, t-shirt sizing, velocity tracking);
- SWOT analysis, decision trees for technical, operational and strategic program decisions;
- Schedule crashing techniques, critical path calculation;
- Quality management: cause and effect diagrams, control charts, others;
- Risk management: program/portfolio level risk identification and mitigation experience;
- Technical debt management using EVM, Cost-Benefit analysis and other techniques;
