Requirements:
Ovearall 6+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA
3+ years’ experience in database server and SQL performance analysis and tuning.
3+ years of experience with replication and high availability.
Experience in Managing Database systems on Linux
Strong understanding of database architecture, data modelling, schema design and development
Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical groups.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Resolve issues and perform maintenance as needed
Demonstrate great analytic skill, able to independently troubleshoot application issues with vendors’ technical support.
Self-motivated to learn additional skillsets outside of DBA duties, supporting various applications as a team player.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure 24×7 operations of customer-critical database systems in our multiple SaaS environments.
• Assist database and reporting performance tuning efforts.
• Perform capacity planning duties for database environments.
• Administration of MySQL and reporting databases including, but not limited to backup & restore, monitoring, tuning, database cloning & replication, and patching.
• Implement clustered or other high availability configurations, including failover procedures. • Maintain and incrementally enhance database disaster recovery capabilities.
• Enhance operational standards and policies for database environments using industry experience, best practices, and business needs, including patch management.
• Provide guidance on data modelling, RDBMS, and database infrastructure strategies.
• Identify and resolve performance problems with database systems, collaborating with software engineering teams.
• Work with IT Security team to ensure data security for all database environments.
• Driving proactive monitoring/alerting through creation and implementation of tooling.
• Author best practices documentation for other Database Administrators.
• Provide SQL and technical support (syntax, trace, tuning … etc) for engineering teammates
