Description:
Responsible for analyzing spatial data received from various vendors to identify datasets that meet client requirements. Evaluate the spatial data to determine if the vendor’s data enhances the client’s maps or introduces new records. Analyze the data thoroughly and provide recommendations to the client on whether to proceed with or reject the vendor’s data.
Requirements:
• Diagnose gaps in existing processes, identify opportunities for enhancement, and implement initiatives to consistently meet client and internal commitments.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Access and utilize aerial photographs, satellite images, and vector data for analysis and mapping.
• Research, collect, store, retrieve, and evaluate MAPS data effectively.
• Design maps and ensure their accuracy through careful verification.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical abilities to assess complex information and data.
• Proven track record of strategic decision-making with sound judgment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior leaders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Preferences:
• Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience working with GIS data, especially in the context of POI data collection, management, and analysis.
• Familiarity with different mapping platforms and tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Maps API, etc.
• Proficient in GIS software and tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, etc.).
Job Responsibilities:
• Perform quality assurance (QA) with a strong understanding of mapping processes, including Points of Interest (POIs), Areas of Interest (AOIs), and linear features.
• Record and escalate deficiencies in modeling real-world features and provide suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate search results using search queries within the Maps/GIS domain.
• Participate as part of the transition team to prepare and review process definitions and documentation for specific processes.
• Coordinate team training to ensure the development of skills and competency across domain operations and behavior.
• Monitor and ensure process compliance, updating guidelines as necessary to adhere to process steps.
• Download files using Postman (REST web services).
• Understand and perform preprocessing of vendor data (.csv/JSON files) using appropriate tools.
• Upload vendor files to server and remote locations.
• Detect paths and identify field projection versions.
• Create configurations for datasets in proprietary tools (SAR) and standardize fields using JavaScript.
• Generate reports in tools and filter required data using SQL-based tools.
• Perform in-depth data analysis at the record level using regular expressions, analyzing geocoding, reverse geocoding, and data matching results.
• Create subreports using SQL filter conditions.
• Deliver detailed reports with data summaries and in-depth analysis.
