Description:
Our client is a performance rights organization in the United States. It collects blanket license fees from businesses that use music, entitling those businesses to play or sync any songs from the client’s repertoire of over 22.4 million musical works. On a regular basis, the client distributes the money to songwriters, composers, and music publishers as royalties to those members whose works have been performed.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 10 years of product owner experience, with flexibility for candidates with strong domain expertise and relevant experience
- 3 years of agile / scrum team experience, with flexibility for candidates with strong domain expertise and relevant experience
- proven track record of product management with experience implementing technology and process improvement
- strong digital capabilities, particularly in UX/UI design, you should be able to independently create mockups and wireframes.
- expertise in Google Analytics is essential.
- understanding in implementation of applications technical capabilities like login/auth, website ‘song view’, licensees portal,etc.
- the role involves developing applications for users from different domains such as music (e.g., songwriters, Spotify), hospitality (e.g., restaurants, bars), and others who are using music content. These applications will focus on user interfaces for reporting, analytics, and configuration
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of data analysis using SQL, ER diagrams and other tools is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in learning new technologies quickly.
- Experience mocking up user interface requirements using prototyping.
- Experience writing user stories for a development team.

Job Responsibilities:
As the Product Owner, the individual will be responsible for ensuring that technology solutions and products align with the organizational vision and marketplace needs. The role will collaborate with organizational leaders and/or external parties to continually assess current business needs, new or evolving business opportunities as well as other pertinent information to ensure that all related products are mature and align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Translating Product Managers’ strategies into user stories that are clearly understood by operational partners, developers to code against and QA to test from. Provides artifacts such as wireframes, data flows, etc. to support that effort.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to identify user needs and ensure the product meets customer expectations.
- Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development.
- Assessing the day’s work and making any necessary adjustments to the product backlog
- Works closely with Product Manager to prioritize backlog to align to Roadmap.
- Works closely with Product Manager in keeping the Roadmap up to date with execution.
- Interprets a product and the requirements, evaluates all the options, works with developers/architects to understand any software limitations.
- Examines existing/new business models and flows of data and discusses findings with the Operational Partners, Product Manager and
- Engineering team as applicable.
- Assists in designing the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Assists in the design of, and migration to, new platforms.
- Oversees the creation of technical user stories.
- Contributes to user manuals.
- Delivers mined data model with entities and attributes used by existing system(s).
- Creates appropriate data dictionary.
- Oversees data migration mapping.
- Delivers both functional and non-functional requirements (business rules).
- Creates wire frames, story boards and workflow models.
- Mentors peers with best practices and expertise.
